Inspiration # 1 - Exposed Bulbs

I dream about designing my own home, one day— Even as a child, I was quite frankly, obsessed with floor plans. I used to scavenge for those real estate flyers around the house and pour over the itsy bitsy floor plans, imagining what it would be like if I lived there. I would daydream and sketch out my own version where I re-arranged all the plan-view furniture to suit my tastes.

I probably have some of those drawings stuck in a drawer somewhere.

Amazing how eventually, after all those years, I managed to land a job that had me designing those real estate flyers for a time! But now, instead of just imagining what my furniture could be like, I could actually go out there and get them if I want to! One of those pieces will definitely be a handful of exposed bulbs.

Aren't they absolutely gorgeous? There's something about exposed bulbs that gives it a sense of charm with a dash of nostalgia. And these little darlings are as versatile as they can be! Paint the caps a bright and bold color (think turquoise or salmon) and the instantly give you a pop of modern.

Encasing them in mason jars is another charming alternative.

Adventure # 4 - Singapore May 2013 Part Two

Onwards to part two! Some snippets from our last two days in Singapore. It's really such a shame we weren't able to go around other parts of Singapore, especially Clarke Quay and Little India. Next time, I promise!

Adventure # 3 - Singapore May 2013 Part One

Singapore has, and always will be my favorite country to go to. Despite its hot, humid climate, this little slice of land is just my cup of tea. Design, culture and food— What more could you ask for?

This trip, we were off to visit another friend studying for his Masters Degree at SMU. We spent the first day wandering the streets of Chinatown and Bugis while we had a full day at Universal Studios on our second. Part Two of this post will feature days three and four. 

Mmm. We were famished when we landed at Changi and made a beeline for Sakae Sushi!

Adventure # 2 - All Soul's Day Photo Blog

There's something about the Chinese-Filipino tradition fills me with urge to capture it. Since my grandmother's passing, we seem to celebrate those special dates less and less and I feel a resonating sense of yearning to grasp at those memories and somewhat bring it back.
